Good sturdy rack that complements the bike's look

Posted by Happy Bulleteer in Alabama on 22nd Jan 2017

I just installed the rack yesterday on a 2015 C5 Classic EFI. It fitS well and looks great. I'm very happy with the luggage rack system as I want to be able to tour and carry gear with me and this provides the perfect framework for adding bags without the need for paying overseas shipping. The kit comes with 2 clear round plastic pieces that weren't identified and I didn't use them. The nut for the lower mounting point (behind the rear footpeg) didn't seem to tighten down very far into the socket cap screw threads so i went to Home Depot and paid about $2 for a pair of M8-1.25x45MM socket cap screws which are 5MM longer than the stock screws I replaced. That allowed the nut to screw on more fully (and ease my mind). Also, I was unable to use the flat washer and locking washer on the left side shock absorber upper mounting point once the left side luggage rack and top fender rack were in position. The acorn nut couldn't grab the bolt holding the shock in place. Simple fix though with locktite though. I'm thinking that I could have taken off the grab handle to help put the bike on the center stand and simply use the forward rail on the top luggage rack as a lifting point for the same purpose. If i take off the handle on the left side of the bike I could then use the washers. I'm looking forward to trying it out on a road trip in the near future.

    Very Nicely Made Rack Set

Posted by Todd Lipps on 10th Sep 2016

Took advantage of the recent 25% off sale on the complete rack set and purchased for use of my aftermarket bags. The racks are nicely constructed, fit well and very easy to install. They are pricey, particularly for use on a motorcycle that sells on the low end of the price point, but are worth the investment. I've had several motorcycles with similar pannier racks and none fit better than these. That's saying a lot with the known production tolerances of Royal Enfield CSs. Very pleased.
